I posted a picture of a single eye of Facebook and asked everyone to guess what it was. I had a whole range of guesses: Rabbit, owl, deer, sheep, and a bison were a few!
The eye belongs to a Bison. She stands, strong patient, and gentle. She watches me from my kitchen wall. Behind her, wind gusts and snow falls, but she stands strong, and unmoved.
I named her "Watch Wisely"
She is even more extraordinary than a typical bison, because of her white fur.
I was intrigued by a picture of a white bison that I saw last week. They are absolutely stunning creatures! Did you know that there is approximately one white bison born out of ten million births?
I learned that In a Sioux legend, a white buffalo calf is a strong symbol of hope and abundance. You can read more about the legend here:
If you live in here, in Winnipeg, there is a white Bison named Blizzard. He was born in 2005 on a ranch in the States and was brought to Manitoba during a snow storm in 2006. Later no, two calves, (one white, one brown) that were sired by him, were given as gifts to the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, near Brandon. These white bison are truly rare and incredible creatures!
This brilliant white bison is guarding my home right now. But if you'd like to her invite her into your home, she will gladly go!
The painting is 30 x 30 " Acrylic on canvas. $350.00
